1. Pray.

Our nation has been blinded by the ‘god of this age’ (cf. 2 Cor. 4:3–4), both to the Gospel of Christ Jesus, and also to the absolute evil of abortion. Only God can lift this spiritual blindness and deliver us from evil. Pray, therefore, that God will yet have mercy upon our Island. Ask Him to frighten comfortable sinners with His Law, grant them repentance, and then comfort those sinners thus frightened with the Gospel of Christ.

2. Like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and share our campaign images and articles.

Some people have never seen photos of unborn children just a few weeks old. Many have been deceived by the lies of the pro-abortion lobby that such children are mere ‘clumps of cells’. We have produced a set of high-quality campaign images to confront people with the humanity of the unborn child, and challenge them to think. We intend to post one of these to our Facebook and Twitter accounts every week or so. These images will not change hearts and minds unless you share them.

It is likely that you will receive criticism and abuse if you actively defend the unborn on social media, especially if you also call people to repent and trust in Christ. Remember, though, that we have justice and truth on our side, and that a strong reaction likely means that our measured-but-forthright message is hitting home. Christians should also be encouraged by Jesus’ words on the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:10–11):

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

3. Contact your MHKs.

Ultimately, it is our MHKs who will decide the future of abortion in the Isle of Man. Many MHKs are under the impression that the majority of their constituents wish the abortion law to be liberalized. It is thus critical that they hear from those who value the lives of unborn children.

MHKs generally wish to be re-elected. They will therefore be influenced by pressure from their constituents, whether through Facebook or Twitter, by letter, email, phone, or in person. Politely let your MHKs know where you stand, and tell them that you will not vote for them in the next election if they do not oppose legislation to liberalize abortion during this parliament. You can keep the pressure on your MHKs by contacting them repeatedly throughout the legislative process. It is essential that they come to believe that supporting abortion will engender a high political cost.

It is possible that some MHKs are ignorant of the truth and genuinely do not understand that abortion is murder. You may therefore wish to send your MHKs some of our campaign images showing the humanity of the unborn child.

4. Contact other MHKs and members of the Legislative Council.

There is nothing to stop you from contacting other MHKs, as well as your own. Members of the Legislative Council will also have an important contribution to the future of abortion legislation. Writing politely to these members of Tynwald will help them realize the depth and breadth of local opposition to abortion.

5. Stand with us in our protests and other activities.

From time-to-time, organizes protests and other activities. We shall announce these events on Facebook and Twitter. Please, please join and stand with us in these activities whenever you are able. Your presence will help the public, politicians, and the media take notice of our vital message. Such attention could, in turn, help to begin to change sentiment towards abortion on our Island.
